With care for the soil
We feed the earth,
the earth feeds us!
Loss of organic matter and decline in fertility
Like us, soils need a balanced and varied supply of nutrients in appropriate amounts to be healthy. Farming systems lose nutrients with each harvest, and if soils are not managed sustainably, fertility is progressively lost and soils will begin to produce nutrient-deficient plants.
Without mineral and organic substances in the soil, it is impossible to maintain:
* a healthy population of microorganisms that are directly responsible for the production of organic substances;
* normal growth and development of plants.
